Frequently asked questions
When is air freight better than sea freight?
Air freight is the better choice when speed matters more than cost, for high-value goods, or for smaller shipments where sea freight's fixed costs and longer transit make little sense. Sea freight is usually more economical for large or heavy loads.
What is chargeable weight?
Air carriers charge on the greater of the actual weight and the volumetric weight, which is calculated from the dimensions of each piece. That is why light but bulky items can cost more than you might expect. We confirm the chargeable weight on your quote.
Can I send batteries or liquids by air?
Some can be sent if they are packed, labelled and declared correctly, and some cannot be flown at all. Tell us exactly what you are sending so we can advise before booking.
Is air freight the same as international courier?
Not quite. International courier is usually best for documents and small parcels sent door to door. Air freight suits larger or heavier cargo. If you are unsure, send us the details and we will recommend the right option.
